Increase Public Safety

Public safety is the foundation of a healthy, stable, and thriving Fresno County. We all want the same basic promise: safe neighborhoods, secure businesses, and dependable emergency services when we need them most. Safety is a shared community priority. Families should feel confident raising their children here. Workers and business owners should be able to focus on opportunity and growth. Seniors should feel protected and supported. Strong public safety makes all of that possible. Effective public safety requires balanced solutions, prevention, accountability, and support. It means backing our enforcement departments, sheriffs, district attorney, fire, and emergency response professionals while also investing in programs that reduce repeat crime and address root causes such as addiction and instability. It also means using taxpayer resources responsibly and measuring what works. California voters signaled their desire for change in November 2024 by approving Proposition 36, strengthening penalties for certain drug and theft crimes. That vote showed broad concern about community safety and accountability. Moving forward, we must implement laws fairly, effectively, and with a focus on real results. Public Safety Is Essential Because It: Protects people, property, and neighborhoods Ensures rapid and reliable emergency response Supports economic growth and local jobs Promotes fairness, accountability, and justice Encourages collaboration between agencies and communities By working together across differences, we can build practical, results-driven public safety policies that keep Fresno County safe and moving forward.

Improve Water Quality & Access

Water is Fresno County’s most vital resource, and protecting it must be a top priority. Advocating for enhanced water allocations through legislative, state, or regional water agencies to address local supply needs. Our farms, families, businesses, and natural spaces all depend on a safe, reliable water supply. In a region defined by dry conditions and growing demand, smart water policy isn’t optional; it’s essential for our future. Fresno County’s agricultural strength — a cornerstone of our local economy and jobs — exists because of water. Without dependable irrigation from our rivers and groundwater, farms cannot produce, workers lose livelihoods, and food supply chains suffer. Thousands of people rely on clean drinking water, and protecting these supplies means protecting public health. Reliable water also supports responsible economic, unincorporated areas and rural communities. Businesses will not invest, and communities cannot expand without infrastructure they can trust, and water is at the center of that foundation. Our rivers and watersheds also sustain wildlife, recreation, and open spaces that define our region’s quality of life. But the challenges are real: groundwater overuse, drought pressure, and contamination risks like threaten long-term stability. That’s why strong leadership, modern water management, conservation, and infrastructure investment are critical now and not later. Protecting water means protecting Fresno County’s economy, health, and future.

Invest in Infrastructure

Infrastructure is the backbone of our communities. It includes our roads, water systems, energy, schools, hospitals, and dams. The essential systems people rely on every day. When infrastructure is strong and well-maintained, it improves quality of life, keeps families safe, supports economic growth, and creates good local jobs. I am committed to making sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and transparently, and to advocating at the state and federal levels to bring more funding and grants into Fresno County District 1. With proven leadership and experience, I will work to expand access to clean water, quality education, healthcare, reliable transportation, broadband, and well-maintained streets and sidewalks, connecting and strengthening our communities for the future.

Fiscal Responsibility & Budget Oversight

As Fresno County prepares to introduce a new budget for Fiscal Year 2026–2027, responsible financial leadership is more important than ever. The current Fiscal Year 2025–2026 budget was approved at approximately $5.34 billion, supporting essential county services, public safety, infrastructure, and community programs. As a newly elected member of the Fresno County Board of Supervisors, I will be entrusted with reviewing the County Administrator’s recommended budget and ensuring strong oversight of all appropriations and revenue sources. Through principled advocacy and careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars, I will work to maintain fiscally sound operations while protecting vital services our residents depend on. My commitment is to ensure Fresno County remains financially stable, transparent, and accountable, so departments and programs can continue serving our communities effectively today and into the future.
